Overview of Chapter Programs

Silicon Valley Chapter programs are designed to:

  • Provide an effective network among African-American women
  • Establish links between NCBW and the corporate and political sectors
  • Enable African-American women to be a visible force in the socioeconomic arena
  • Use the tools of role modeling and mentoring to provide meaningful guidance to young women
  • Advocate for social and public policy changes
  • Increase interest in issues that impact the African-American community

Areas of Community Focus

  • HIV/AIDS - Educating and increasing awareness of HIV/AIDS upon African-American women and girls. Sponsor programs on HIV/AIDS awareness.
  • Education Advocacy - Helping students navigate through the education system and transition to college.
  • Cultural Enrichment - Increasing awareness of arts in the community.
